Now the dust has settled, we would like to publicly thank everyone who helped us during the General Election campaign.

We are immensely proud of our candidate, Ali Milani, for the fantastic campaign that he led and for the way in which he conducted himself under much media scrutiny. We are also proud that we ran a positive, people powered, smear free campaign and were overwhelmed by the support we received from across the country and further afield. We wouldn’t have been able to knock on every door without your help.

We may not have been able to make history, but our vote from 2017 held up and Boris Johnson is still well short of the majority he inherited here in 2015. We will continue to hold him to account for being a terrible MP and for the pledges that we don’t expect him to deliver on. We must also organise for the battles ahead,  for all the people who still need Labour to stand up for them.

Good news is that we have already seen an influx of new members since polling day. For anyone reading this who isn’t already a member and would like to play a part, you can join us at join.labour.org.uk
